Each state links to its builders. Prices are scaled to each state's price level, and the quote form reaches builders in every state.
Send one short form to get quotes from builders who work in your state. It's free to use, and there's no obligation to buy. No builder pays for a spot in the directory, and we never rank them, so the order you see on a state page isn't us recommending anyone.
Builders listed in your state
A state's page shows the builders who serve it and the areas they reach. Each listing shows where the builder works, so you can see who serves your area.
A few examples give a sense of the spread. In Texas, Lone Star Surface Pros serves Dallas and Fort Worth, while Build My Courts handles Houston and the towns around it. In Florida, SCCF Sports Construction works across the Central Florida and Tampa Bay region. New York has Backyard Pickleball Builders, which serves the city and Long Island along with Albany, Buffalo and Westchester.
What a court costs
The cost calculator gives these US average prices for courts built on a 30 by 60 foot pad, or 1,800 square feet. When you build more than 1 court, they sit side by side. These totals don't include fence or lights.
- Painted concrete: one court is $12,400 to $31,900; two courts are $24,800 to $63,800; four courts are $49,600 to $127,600.
- Painted asphalt: one court is $8,800 to $26,500; two courts are $17,600 to $53,000; four courts are $35,200 to $106,000.
- Concrete with snap-together tiles: one court is $18,700 to $60,700; two courts are $37,400 to $121,400; four courts are $74,800 to $242,800.
- Concrete with cushioned acrylic: one court is $15,100 to $37,300; two courts are $30,200 to $74,600; four courts are $60,400 to $149,200.
For a painted concrete court, the concrete base and preparing the ground account for most of the estimated cost. With 1 painted concrete court, the slab runs $9,000 to $18,000, and preparation and grading run $2,000 to $10,000.
Prices in your state
Prices shift a little from state to state, but not by much: one painted concrete court runs from $11,600 to $29,800 in Iowa and North Dakota, the cheapest, up to $13,200 to $34,100 in Hawaii.
Fence and lights
Your fence should be 8 feet or taller. These prices are for painted concrete courts.
- 1 court: about 180 feet of fence is $1,800 to $6,300; lights are $5,000 to $10,000; the whole build is $19,200 to $48,200.
- 2 courts: about 240 feet of fence is $2,400 to $8,400; lights are $10,000 to $20,000; the whole build is $37,200 to $92,200.
- 4 courts: about 360 feet of fence is $3,600 to $12,600; lights are $20,000 to $40,000; the whole build is $73,200 to $180,200.
Turning an old tennis court into pickleball courts
It can be done. Turning 1 tennis court into 4 pickleball courts runs $5,000 to $20,000. Turning 2 tennis courts into 8 pickleball courts runs $10,000 to $40,000.
Resurfacing a court you already have is cheaper than building from scratch. Expect $1,500 to $3,500 for a single court, $3,000 to $7,000 for two, and $6,000 to $14,000 for four. If you're planning a conversion or resurfacing, that's worth mentioning in the short note you add to the form.
How to send your plans
On the quote form you'll be asked for the court's ZIP code, what you're planning, how many courts, a short note, plus your name and email. Adding a phone number is optional. If you priced your court with the cost calculator first, that range travels with the form, so builders see what you have in mind.
The quickest way to a real number for your court is to let the builders see your plans. Builders will often ask for a photo of the area or a rough measurement before sending back their own quotes. Using the form costs nothing, and saying yes to being contacted doesn't lock you into buying anything.
